Doctoral Program: University of Florida, Gainesville, FL

Postdoctoral Fellowship: UCLA Semel Institute, Los Angeles, CA
Dr. Kaufman is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Saint Louis University.  He directs the Cognitive & Affective Psychophysiology Laboratory, with research interests focusing on executive control of attention across the lifespan.  His research projects use physiological markers (e.g., EEG, fMRI) to better understand neural networks underlying cognitive flexibility in clinical populations such as dementia, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
His areas of clinical expertise include neuropsychological assessment across the lifespan, with particular focus on TBI and educational difficulties.  In addition to his academic work, he directs Gateway Neuropsychology, which provides assessment and therapy services to the greater St. Louis region.

Dr. Kaufman has served as a member on SCN’s Education Advisory Committee since 2016.  Prior to becoming a psychologist, he was a high school teacher for 5 years.  He continues to have a passion for teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, along with mentoring graduate students in their clinical training.
